ANTA had already woven its ambitions into the first generation of the "Champion Dragon Outfit" in the 2012 London Olympics. "The fabric is made of environmentally recycled yarn by advanced recycling technology. Therefore, 6 tons of oil and over 80% of energy consumption can be saved for each ton of recycled yarn, which contributes to the ecological environment. This podium uniform is the most eco-friendly one in China."
Leading The Trend Of Green Consumption
Back to one year ago, ANTA launched its recyclable shoe model, "Badao running shoes", whose upper part is made of biodegradable or recycled materials in the summer when Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was supposed to be held. For every 100 pairs of such shoes produced, 170W of electricity and 1.6 tons of water can be saved, and 41.9 kilograms of carbon dioxide can be reduced.
In 2019, ANTA launched the eco series, "A-AWAKE ENERGY". The recycled polyester fabric for making a piece of "A-AWAKE ENERGY" sportswear can be produced with 11 discarded 550ml plastic bottles. Up to now, ANTA has recycled 9.4 million discarded plastic bottles.
In fact, ANTA has been working hard to promote the usage of new eco-friendly fabrics. A total of 4 million ANTA clothes are made of fluorine-free waterproof fabrics produced by the "A-RAIN BREAKER" technology, 18 million of DuPont SORONA fibers, and about 3 million of organic cotton. As the latest high tech, ANTA makes recycled coffee grounds into polyester fiber.
One Step Ahead Towards Carbon Neutrality
ANTA is the first sportswear company in China to release its ESG (environmental, social and governance) Report. The report shows that ANTA's carbon intensity has decreased year after year in the past six years, from 5.53 tons in 2015 to 2.63 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2020.
Under the background of "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutrality", the prepared ANTA has obviously won a leading strategic position for itself.
Creating The Green Ecological Chain
ANTA is doing its best to influence upstream and downstream enterprises to jointly build a healthier ecosystem with more responsibilities.
In 2020, ANTA also worked with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to establish three core cooperation areas which include the improvement of supplier environmental management, biodiversity conservation and R&D of eco-friendly sustainable products. The two sides will jointly promote the factory evaluation and improvement system (FAIS); develop and promulgate innovative solutions for the transformation toward a greener textile industry; conduct better supply chain management and collaboration of the whole industry, and finally achieve the goal of the green transformation of textile factories.
The data indicate that ANTA has cooperated with 698 suppliers in China and 22 suppliers overseas in 2020.
Keeping Moving For a Long Term
ANTA will continue to put forward the R&D and innovation of sustainable products. With joining hands with WWF and relying on global network resources, ANTA will work with other partners to constantly improve water and energy utilization, waste emission and supply chain management of more than 3,000 textile suppliers in the industry in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
