The latest achievement: A successful research and development of fabric which can effectively kill Covid-19 coronal virus.

The newly developed fabric processed by a new technology has 100% resistance against Covid-19 coronal virus under experimental conditions, possessing a high effective resistance property for a long time while applied in health protection products such as facial masks. Currently, massive production of the masks, gloves, protection garments made of the fabric of this type has been launched.

On 27th, SQ GROUP announced the new scientific research and development achievement for virus fighting, which was through the cooperation between SQ GROUP and Hongkong Nano-technology Research Institute.




On the morning of that day, the science and technology achievement appraisal of the technical development and application of the SQ GROUP Nano-VTS biological polysaccharide derivatives anti-bacteria and anti-virus materials was held in Jinan. After nearly three hours of discussion, the appraisal committee founded with the Chinese Academy of Engineering academician, Jiang Shicheng as its chairman and the chairman of Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center of Heilongjiang Province, Sun Gang and biosecurity appraisal expert of National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, Guan Yuntao as its vice-chairmen resolved to pass this scientific and research achievement, regarding it as an unprecedented technology in the world with an advanced world standard. It was suggested that this technology should be promoted due to its extensive value in application.

So far, the application for the patent of this achievement has been made and it has been tested its anti-virus property by the institutes such as the Biosecurity Laboratory of Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, CAAS, the American MICROBAC Laboratory, the INTERTEK, the VRS, the SGS and the Guangdong Detection Center of Microbiology; has been tested its anti-bacteria property by many institutes such as zhongfangxie and the HOHENSTEIN and has satisfied the requirements of many testing reports, such as national textile products basic safety technical specifications.


After testing, SQ GROUP Nano-VTS antibacterial and antiviral fabric has performed well in resistance against the three kinds of infectious coronal virus(Covid-19, SARS virus and coronal virus 229E) among the known seven kinds of it. The testing data of National High-level Biosecurity Laboratory indicated that Covid-19 coronal virus cytotoxicity(HRB25) would be 100% inactivated after staying on this type of fabric for 60 minutes. The testing data from VRS (Virology Research Services) also proved: after in contact with the fabric for 5 minutes, the number of the Covid-19 coronal virus would decrease by 90%; while in contact with the fabric for 120 minutes, the number would decrease by 99.99%.



VRS testing data indicated: After in contact with the fabric for 120 minutes, the number of the Covid-19 coronal virus would decrease by 99.99%.


SQ GROUP Nano-VTS antibacterial and antiviral fabric will kill bacteria and virus on contact to prevent the transmission. The antibacterial and antiviral cotton cloth still had a bacterial resistance rate of over 99% after 30 times of washing according the testing report. That was to say, the relevant products could be worn repeatedly without being replaced frequently.



The principle of the Nano-VTS antibacterial and antiviral fabric which was developed under the cooperation between the SQ GROUP and the nanotechnology institute subordinated to Hongkong government is that it can kill and capture the virus. According to the introduction, the structural layer of the biological polysaccharide derivative polymer can automatically absorb the virus and bacteria within capturing range to inactivate them by its bioactivity.



At present, SQ GROUP facial masks made of Nano-VTS antibacterial and antiviral fabric has been launched in market and tested in accordance with the new standard of facial masks issued by EU, CWA17553-2020. The fabric is also applicable to gloves, medical protective garments, hospital sheets, public transportation seat covers and other products. Experts suggested that the popularization and promotion of this achievement greatly conduced to the prevention of virus in crowds and high-risk areas.
