Startup Planet Brings Together Experts to Spark New Idea for Textile Industry

On November 25 and 26, 2019, Textech Galaxy held a Textech Inno Talk at the "Startup Planet" in Hall W5 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre(SNIEC), which attracted many buyers and visitors to the event. With a startup exhibition and presentation area, the 2-day event attracted a large number of industry professionals in pursuit of innovation to participate in the event and to exchange ideas with startups


 

Mr. Daniel Lorenz, General Manager of KMA Umwelttechnik GmbH, shared how the exhaust gas filtration system with heat recovery function of the stamper can reduce the carbon emission target and save a lot of energy consumption in real production.


Mr. Stanley Kwok, Co-founder of Knitwarm Limited, introduced the emerging textiles and applications under the theme of Thermal Textiles: Weaving a Stylish Lifestyle and shared his insights on the development and commercialization of thermal textiles in Hong Kong.


Mr.Walden Lam, Co-founder & Chief Hustler of unspun, shared how unspun, a fashion technology startup, had grown rapidly over the past two years despite failures, and what he had learned from his mistakes.


Mr. Kevin Tang, Founder of Kalon Couture, shared how 3D technology is revolutionizing the fashion and textile industry. He pointed out that many apparel brands and manufacturers had started to switch to 3D technology to reduce the cost and time of product development and to solve customers' size selection problems when shopping online, thus optimizing the shopping experience in many ways.

 

Mr. Kit Yeh from MotherApp Limited, introduced PowerArena, an intelligent operations management platform developed by MotherApp that leverages AI image analytics and data technology for smart city and smart manufacturing applications.

Mr. Saint Peng, Director of Quikec International Limited, shared how the company leverages artificial intelligence, big data, and patented smart devices to streamline and add value to QA and QC activities in the manufacturing supply chain.

 

Mr. Haifeng Lu, CTO of Sambo Group Technology Limited introduced the light self-cleaning yarn. The fabric woven with this yarn cleans itself after light exposure. Therefore the fabric can be free of or less washing, thus saving water, electricity, and reducing the use of phosphorus-containing detergents and sewage discharge, while also having multiple functions such as light sterilization, deodorization.


Mr. David Yao, Deputy General Manager of Hansk New Materials Holdings Limited discussed the textile anti-mosquito technology, so that more apparel brands, fabric suppliers, etc. can understand the safer and long-lasting apparel anti-mosquito technology.


It is not only the new textile technologies that we saw in this seminar but also the fact that fashion and textile brands of all sizes are introducing these innovative technologies, which shows that the entire textile industry is evolving with the times. These new technologies are leading the way in fashion and textiles, and we look forward to more of these intelligent new technologies being integrated into textiles and fashion, creating more possibilities for the industry!
